Certification Process

Apply for CFMA membership

After you have received notice that your CFMA application for membership is approved, you may apply for certification You will need the following:

  • Certificates of completion for all mediation courses.
  • Curriculum descriptions for each certifying course and continuing education. Descriptions must
    include learning objectives, outcomes and number of hours of instruction and role play engagement.
  • At least three (3) professional references to support observation hours, co-mediation time, etc.
  • At least one (1) personal reference who can attest to your character and commitment to the craft.

CFMA reserves the right to conduct a background investigation if necessary.
